About FDP
The Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Prompt Engineering is designed to equip faculty members, researchers, and professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively harness the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT. As Artificial Intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into education, research, and industry, prompt engineering has emerged as a critical skill for improving model performance, aligning outputs with human intent, and driving innovation across disciplines.
This FDP will introduce participants to the fundamentals of prompt engineering, emphasizing its role in shaping accurate, reliable, and context-aware responses from AI models. Through interactive sessions and hands-on training, participants will gain practical expertise in designing prompts for tasks like summarization, question answering, sentiment analysis, content generation, and code development. The program will also highlight real-world applications of prompt engineering in education, healthcare, business intelligence, and software development, enabling participants to connect theoretical concepts with practical problem-solving.
In addition to technical mastery, the FDP emphasizes the importance of ethical and responsible AI practices. Discussions on fairness, bias, safety, and explainability will ensure that participants are prepared to guide students and colleagues in the responsible use of emerging technologies. By the end of the program, participants will be empowered to integrate prompt engineering into their teaching methodologies, initiate AI-driven research, collaborate with industry, and act as resource persons for future academic and professional programs. This comprehensive exposure will contribute significantly to institutional capacity building and the advancement of interdisciplinary research in Artificial Intelligence.
